AMENITY KIT DESIGN

Collaboration with Skysupply GmbH

Skysupply, based in Munich, has been shaping premium inflight experiences for over 25 years, developing award-winning, tailor-made amenity concepts for leading international airlines. With a strong commitment to sustainability, certified materials, and responsible supply chains, the company combines innovation, functionality, and refined aesthetics.


For nearly ten years, I have been designing amenity kits for Skysupply — working across graphic and textile design, photography as well as art direction for forward-thinking partner collaborations.

Since 2022, I have focused on integrating art and cultural partnerships into airline amenity concepts. By connecting airlines with artists and cultural institutions from their home countries, I transform amenity kits into narrative objects that communicate identity, heritage, and contemporary creativity.

 

The international awards these projects have received underline the relevance of culturally driven design — where sustainability, storytelling, and strategic collaboration meet.

AUSTRIAN AIRLINES × MAK – Museum of Applied Arts Vienna

Business Class

For Austrian Airlines’ Business Class, I developed the concept for a collaboration with the MAK – Museum of Applied Arts Vienna, translating early 20th-century Viennese design into a contemporary inflight product. Having the opportunity to work closely with cultural institutions and artists is something I deeply value. In this case, I was able to explore the Wiener Werkstätte archive and compose a coherent selection of designs from the artists of that era — an experience that still fills me with excitement and pride, being in direct contact with such remarkable cultural treasures and integrating them into my work.

The collection is based on textile works by Wiener Werkstätteartists of the 1920s — including Dagobert Peche, Mathilde Flögl, and Koloman Moser. Their designs were originally handcrafted within small workshops, embodying the movement’s vision of applied art as part of everyday life. I adapted the historical patterns for industrial production, refining scale, color, and repeats while preserving their artistic integrity and creating production-ready templates from the original works. The result brings Austrian cultural heritage into a contemporary travel context through a durable, collectible design.

ICELANDAIR X SARA RIEL

Business Class​

For Icelandair’s Business Class, I developed the art direction and concept for an amenity kit collaboration with Icelandic artist Inga Elín. The project reflects Icelandair’s focus on working with local names, expressing cultural pride and identity. Together with Skysupply’s experts in bag and material production, I translated the essence of her iconic formal language into a distinctive design, creating a strong and balanced partnership between artist, airline, and brand. Acting as the creative link between all partners, I shaped the visual identity from concept to production.

The drawstring pouch echoes the silhouette of Inga Elín’s Veltibolli cups, while the surface patterns are based on her abstract works inspired by Icelandic weather and water phenomena, such as Lækur and Bylur. I curated and adapted these motifs for textile production in close collaboration with the brand team, a process I particularly value, as this kind of work allows me to connect with inspiring artists and brands, while aligning the designs with Icelandair’s minimal blue-and-white corporate identity. Developed in two sizes, the reusable cotton bags were designed for longevity beyond the flight. An “on-demand” content concept allows passengers to choose items individually, reducing waste and supporting a more conscious inflight service.

ICELANDAIR X INGA ELÍN 

Business Class

​In December 2023, I developed the Flora Amenity Kit for Icelandair together with Skysupply — a project celebrating Icelandic art and nature with sustainability at its core. Icelandair collaborated with Reykjavík-based artist Sara Riel, known for her large-scale murals and street art across the city and for being a distinctive creative personality in Iceland. Projects like this allow me to immerse myself in the cultural landscape of an airline’s home country, an experience that continually inspires and enriches my work as an art director and creator.

The two variations are crafted from FSC-certified kraft paper made in Germany: natural, biodegradable, fully recyclable, and durable enough for long-term reuse, even washable by hand.

 

The visual concept is inspired by Sara Riel’s mural Flóran (The Flora), depicting Icelandic plants and herbs in bold, organic compositions. Inside, passengers find curated travel essentials, including skincare products from Verso Skincare, a dental set, eyeshades, socks, earplugs, and a postcard. The kit combines thoughtful design, sustainability, and cultural storytelling in a compact inflight object.

CONDOR - Sustainable action and corporate identification

Premium Economy: Bag / Kit

With Condor’s bold striped branding introduced in 2022, the airline established a distinctive corporate identity defined by five signature colors: Sunshine (yellow), Passion (red), Sea (blue), Island (green), and Beach (beige). In close alignment with this strong visual transformation, I developed the Travel Organizer amenity kit collection together with Skysupply.The project demonstrates how a corporate identity can be meaningfully translated into product design, extending the brand experience into a tangible travel companion. Condor’s new visual language was transferred into four functional, reusable bag concepts — a gadget pouch, cooler bag, beach bag, and pharmacy box — each reflecting the airline’s vibrant character while serving a practical purpose beyond the flight.

The striped design became a recognizable extension of the aircraft livery, reinforcing brand consistency across touchpoints. Sustainability was central to the concept. The reusable bags were designed for long-term use, while the amenities were offered separately in a 100% recyclable striped carton. This modular system reduced waste and allowed passengers to consciously choose what they needed.

 

The Travel Organizer merges brand strategy, functionality, and responsible design — translating corporate identity into everyday utility.
